The mission of the Lincoln High School History Club is to discuss and debate historical topics in order to expand our members knowledge so that they may learn and thrive from the past.

Welcome

Hello to all new and possible members. you may have seen the flyers around school for the lincoln high history club, this is going to be a real club this year and we are working towards being in the yearbook. we need all the participation we can get, and as an added bonus, if you have Mr. Allen for Humanities, there is a distinct possibility at extra credit. so please come to our meeting on thursday september 20th at 14:00 and learn about our club and give us some ideas. thanks, yours truly, Phil Castro

    After todays meeting, which I thought was very productive, I've made a final list of topics that have been suggested by others and myself for the History Club this year:
    -Development of music for protest
    -Apocalypse theories
    -Mythology vs. actual events
    -Civil War (States rights, government)
    -Socialism
    -Origins of communism
    Sigmund Freud
    -Deadliest diseases/famines
    -Courtly Love in Middle Ages
    -How individuals rise to power
    -Te effect of long distant boat travel on European Society---A favorite subject of Mr. Yip's
    -Evolution of weapons over time and their effects on society
    -Evolution of torture devices
    -Workers cooperatives in Cuba
    -2nd U.S. Amendment
    -Immigration
    -International terrorism; its evolution and effects
    -Evolutionists vs. Church

    -Use of religiion as a weapon
    -Watergate scandal

    Feel free to add any other topics you may want to discuss on the blog, or feel free to voice your opinions (in a respectful manner) about any topics on the list.
